Ho Coc Beach, Ho Coc

Ho Coc Beach, Ho Coc: With golden sands, rolling inland dunes and clear waters, this beach makes a tempting place to stop. There's one big hotel resort here, very much geared at the local market, but on weekdays it's still peaceful and you should have the beach largely to yourself. About 300m inland from the beach, Hotel Ven Ven is tasteful, with classy, well-appointed rooms in lush gardens. The restaurant here is good, if quite pricey, and strong on seafood (meals 60,000d upwards). The new road continues to wind along the coast, fringed by casuarinas and sand dunes, until it reaches Ho Coc Beach. Ho coach is a spellbinding, a 5km stretch of wonderful golden sand, dotted with coracles and large boulders, lapped by clear waters and backed by fine dunes. It’s still in the early stages of development, but you’ll be able to find a simple place to stay. As with most places around here, it gets crowded with day-trippers at the weekend but is practically deserted during the week. Ho Coc (Coc Lake) Beach with its turquoise water and primitive forests has become a popular tourist spot in the southern province of BA Ria-Vung Tau, attracting an increasing number of both day-trippers and overnighters.

Quan Lan, Bai Tu Long: Bai Tu Long bay is located east of Halong bay and definitely as breathtaking as its well-known neighbor. Bai Tu Long is getting more and more popular among visitors wanting something newer and quieter than the overly touristy Halong bay. These days there are a lot of Halong cruises that include Bai Tu Long bay as a fixed destination during their cruising itineraries in response to the growing demand from tourists. Bai Tu Long bay offers the same impressive scenery of the sea and islands as Halong bay, but more pristine and less crowded. Visitors who love adventure and nature should probably start with Bai Tu Long Park. The area of thick jungles is protected and secured by the Government with some of Vietnam’s endangered species of birds and animals. With luck, you might see some of them with your own eyes. At the Bai Tu Long Bay, you sense calmness as you go further and further in. It is spectacular. Surrounded by the limestone karsts, which emerge from the water like parts of that proverbial dragon, you begin to marvel at this unique World Heritage locale.

Cua Dai Beach, Hoi An

Cua Dai Beach, Hoi An: Car day is one of just five Vietnamese UNESCO World Heritage Sites offering an unrivaled seaside escape from the ancient streets of Hoi An. This 3km stretch of fine white powdery sands positioned just northeast of Hoi An makes Cua Dai Beach the perfect place to easily find your own patch of paradise.

The water is very clear with tropic blue waves that are gentle enough for swimming and floating around. There are even changing huts on the beach along with a few bungalows here and there. There are also plenty of great seafood restaurants located on the coast so it's worth staying for dinner and enjoying fresh dishes served up from the vendors lining the beachfront.

Car day is another great reason to visit Hoi An where you can soak up all the celebrated cultural and historical sites, then head up to the beach and experience what is often claimed to be Vietnam's most stunning coastal shore.

Crystal blue seas and deserted white sands like this are hard to find anywhere else in Vietnam. It’s worth heading to Cua Dai Beach during the week when the sands will be virtually deserted. Weekends, however, tend to get busy. It’s also best to visit from April to August when swimming is the safest.

Cam An Beach, Hoi An: Cam An Beach, just north of its more popular counterpart, Cua Dai Beach is a pleasantly scruffy alternative to the tourist focused Cua Dai. Ramshackle bars dot the far less visited beach, seen as the local expats beach of choice. Cam An Beach is one of the few remaining stretches of beach that remains mostly unspoiled by development, offering clean blue sea, castaway restaurants, and bohemian beach bars. It flaunts not only the most fabulous island and mountain views that you don’t even need to climb off your lounger to enjoy but also some of the best seafood in Hoi An. And unlike many beach destinations, there is something to do whatever the season, whether you prefer some self-indulgent R&R or an action packed surfing safari. This beach now reigns as Hoi An’s main beach. This little slice of paradise is popular all year round with both locals and tourists alike. During the popular summer months, the local Vietnamese crowd comes here mostly for sunrise swims and sunset family beach barbecues, meaning that during the day it stays quiet.

Con Son Island, Con Dao Archipelago: The Côn ??o Islands are an archipelago of Bà R?a–V?ng Tàu Province, in the southeast region of Vietnam, and in a district of this province. The Con Dao Archipelago is one of the most beautiful and least developed destinations in Vietnam. There are beaches, forests, mountains, history, mythology, and a quiet town with crumbling French colonial villas on the seafront.

There are two sides to the Con Dao Islands when you visit: one day spent swimming in the clear sea, walking upon white sand beaches, driving along deserted coast roads, and drinking cocktails on the seafront promenade; another spent visiting the prisons, learning about former inmates – many of whom are celebrated national heroes – and witnessing remnants of their forced labor, which caused hundreds of prisoners to die.

The former is the future of the Con Dao Islands as a tropical paradise. The latter is its past as a penal colony, set up by the French colonial administration. Con Son is the largest of 15 islands in the Con Dao Archipelago, 80km from the mainland Mekong Delta region and 230km from Saigon.
