Luon Cave is a part of Bo Hon Island and the smallest cave in Halong Bay. The cave is an arch-shaped entrance which is a 3-metre tall and 100-metre long tunnel. It looks like a beautiful rocky gateway on the surface of the sea that leads you to a natural wonderland.
The cave is a natural tunnel which was formed a million years ago due to the pressure of tides over the years. You can witness the evidence of underwater life that existed a million years ago on the rock surface such as the remains of oyster and snail shells. This indicates that Luon Cave used to be an underwater cave before the sea level decreased.
