Built in 1963, Long Son Pagoda has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the beach city of Nha Trang. It is renowned for having the largest outdoor statue of Buddha in Vietnam, sitting on top of a cliff. This 24-metre tall statue is a symbol of peace and harmony which was carved out from natural white stone.
Long Son Pagoda boasts a traditional Vietnamese architectural style with vibrant colours and detailed carvings. Spread across 1,670 square metres, the main hall has the capacity of around a hundred pilgrims at a time. Another highlight of the pagoda is a magnificent 1.6 metre tall bronze statue of Buddha which weighs around 700 kg.
Additionally, you can climb the 200 stairs, leading to Trai Thuy Mountain which offers several more attractions. On the 44th step, you will come across another marble statue of Buddha into nirvana. Taking a few more steps, you will get to see the great Dai Hong Chung Bell and on the 193rd step, you will see the white statue of Buddha.

For a more budget-friendly option, you can also rent a motorbike if you wish to explore more places at your own pace.
By Walk: Another fun way of reaching Long Son Pagoda is by a short hike. You can start walking from the city centre of Nha Trang towards Trai Thuy Mountain via the Trần Quý Cáp/CT01/QL1C route. It is approximately a 20-minute walk from the city centre to Long Son Pagoda, during which you will get to witness scenic views throughout your journey.
