Rainbow Village
Rainbow Village is gaining popularity and is slowly becoming one of the trendiest places to visit in Taichung. This is a small settlement which is a short distance away from the city centre. The settlement is famous for its vibrantly painted streets and houses. Originally this village was a settlement for veteran soldiers but with time the area became a major attraction for several developers.

They wanted to destroy the village and build lucrative projects here. But one of the veteran residents, Mr Huang didn’t want to leave his home so he started a project to save the village. He painted the houses one by one with comic characters and animals in bright colors. Now he is 99 years old and the Rainbow village still stands due to his efforts.

Carton King Creativity Park
Carton King Creativity Park is one of the most unique Taichung places to visit. The furniture, decor, plates, etc. in this quaint cafe are all made of cardboard. The seats and tables are also made of cardboard where you can sit and relax while you wait for your food. Apart from the cardboard furniture and cutleries you can also explore their spectacular paper garden.

Xinshe Sea Of Flowers
This is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places to visit in Taichung with a wide and colorful variety of flowers in full bloom. It is a spectacular outdoor park with beautiful flower beds that showcases lavender, sage, sunflower, cleome, begonia and lots of other varieties.

The Xinshe Sea of Flowers Exhibition is held every year between November to December which attracts thousands of flower lovers from around the world. Dakeng No.5 Trail

The trails are very steep but present some of the most spectacular views of the surrounding areas. Huanshan Tribal Village
Huanshan Tribal Village is a picturesque hamlet surrounded by towering verdant mountains and incredible scenery. This beautiful village is the perfect setting to study the indigenous tribes of Taiwan and their unique ethnic cultural heritage. The tribe inhabiting the Huanshan Tribal Village are known as the Atayals.

The village is famous for its amazing scenery, meandering streams, picture-perfect surroundings and delicious local grown fruits such as persimmon pear, peach and apple. The Atayal traditional weaving craft is diligently followed by women of this tribe and they weave baby linen, no button men’s shirts, aprons, blankets and several other things. Chungbuk Fall Pine

National Taichung Theater

Established in September 2016, the Theatre is the seal of performing arts in Taiwan and a marvelous architectural landmark in the country. This massive 6-storey building features three theatres with varying capacities - a 2009 seat theatre with an opera stage, a playhouse with 800 seats and black box with 200 seats.

The structure has several unique features such as irregularly shaped entrances, a large yet calm central foyer with small corridors that lead to the grand theatre. Other facilities include a restaurant, a roof terrace and large wide spaces for rehearsals.

The Daliart Art Center is a wonderful art gallery with some truly amazing works of art on display. 921 Earthquake Museum Of Taiwan
In September 1999 Taiwan experienced one of its worst natural disasters - a 7.3 magnitude earthquake. This Museum stands as testimony to the earthquake and the efforts that went into reconstructing the devastation caused by the earthquake. It has preserved the damage caused by the Ji-Ji earthquake such as the fault rupture, the ravaged school buildings and the elevated riverbanks.

The Museum has an Earthquake Engineering Hall, Chelungpu Fault Gallery, Image Gallery, Disaster Prevention Hall and Reconstruction Records Hall. Here you will also find the earthquake simulator room which is truly worth visiting. The premises also have basic facilities like snack bars, restrooms, etc.

Lihpao Land
Lihpao Land is a famous theme park in Taichung and it is one of the most popular places to visit in Taichung. National Taiwan Museum Of Fine Arts
Established in 1988, the National Museum of Fine Arts is the first and the only fine arts museum in Taiwan showcasing some of the most noteworthy exhibits this country has to offer. The property covers a total area of 102,000 square meters which also includes the Public Outdoor Sculpture Park, making this museum one of the largest art museums in Asia.

Hou Feng Bikeway
Cycling along the HouFeng Bikeway is a great way to explore the scenic countryside of Taichung. This bike path was built along the Old Mountain Railway Line and it goes past an iron bridge that crosses the Dajia River.
