DAKENG NO 5 TRAIL

The outskirts of Taichung offers several hiking trails that are of various levels. The Dakeng No. 5 Trail is one of the most challenging and it is also the highest point of Taichung. This trail is on the main ridge that connects Touke Mountain and the heads of the other trails on this route.

The trails are very steep but present some of the most spectacular views of the surrounding areas. The trails have staircases made from logs of wood and ropes but some are far apart hence it is important for hikers to watch their step. Make sure to carry insect repellants and gloves when you go hiking on these trails.
