Surrounded by high walls and well fortified towers, Sucevita is a great monastic complex that was founded in the late 16th century by Gheorghe Movila, Bishop of Radauti. The beautiful and wonderful public park is named after the late King of Romania, King Carol I. During the communist regime the park was renamed Liberty park and is nestled partially on the top of a hill in the zithers west parts of Bucharest. This French style garden was designed and crafted by renowned artist Edouard Redont.
