The Stavropoleos church is one of the most beautiful and wonderful places to visit in Bucharest. Tha tiny and calming church was built by a Greek monk named Ioanikie Stratonikeas. The gorgeous church has amazing elements of both the Romanian and the Byzantine architectural styles. The church also features an intricately carved entrance that is lined with columns and makes it a unique landmark in the Bucharest sightseeing tour.

The tiny church is surrounded by a beautiful garden courtyard that is brimming with tombstones from the 18th century. Some other amazing features of the church are the fine stone and wood carvings engraved in its structure. The church complex once included an inn and a monastery but today the only additional element is a library full of books on Byzantine music. The interiors also include beautiful wood icons and frescoes that are admired by visitors from all around the globe.
