The beautiful and wonderful public park is named after the late King of Romania, King Carol I. During the communist regime the park was renamed Liberty park and is nestled partially on the top of a hill in the zithers west parts of Bucharest. This French style garden was designed and crafted by renowned artist Edouard Redont.
The Carol Park also known as the Liberty Park is one bright spot which is located in the South west parts of the city. This French style garden was designed by renowned artist Edouard Redont in 1900. One side of the park houses the Technical museum which opened its doors the same year as the park and is still standing tall for visitors to explore during their trip. The park is a beautiful open place with amazing views and peaceful ambiance due to its location partially on a hill.
The Park also has several fountains and sculptures arranged throughout its premises, including two giants. The park is also home to an open air theater which houses up to 5500 people and is regularly used for various events. Another striking feature of the park is the Carol Park Mausoleum, an elevated monument accessible by a bridge.
