With the onslaught of winters, the destination shows a different side as the snow starts falling. The flowers dry up and once a colorful region becomes sparkling white with snow. Officially the place shuts down on September 30th and one will have to wait for one more year to take a glance at the natural wonders.
Once the year ends the place re-opens at the beginning of June but you cannot spot beautiful flowers until mid-July.
Months: The valley experiences winters from October to February, and at this time the valley is not accessible.

Administered by the Uttarakhand State Forestry Department this place doesn't lose its charm any day but shuts down for the tourist on September 30th.

Things to Keep in Mind Before Visiting Valley of Flowers

Location: It is seated in the Chamoli Garhwal, which is a part of Zanskar Range at an altitude of almost 3,600 m above the sea level.
Operating hours: The Valley is accessible in the daylight from early morning at 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
How to reach: The nearest railway station is Dehradun, from here one can take a taxi or bus to Joshimath. Later take a private taxi to the base camp that is, Ghangaria. From here hike up to the Valley of flowers which is a tek of 2-3 hours.
Entrance Fee: Here one can opt for a 3-day pass, which is of INR 150 for Indians and INR 650 for foreigners.
Stay Options: One can go for a budget stays at Ghangaria or opt for luxury stays at Joshimath.
