The Shillong Peak is located 10 kilometres away from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. As the name suggests, this is a viewpoint with a height of over 1962 metres above the sea level. This is also the highest point of Shillong and comes with some of the best views of the entire city. Shillong Peak has a mild climb to the top and it is believed the have gotten the name from the tribal deity Lei Shyllong.

1. You will have to pay an entry fee of up to 50 rupees per person before you can enter the Shillong Peak.
2. The peak is open on all days except Wednesdays, so plan your travel accordingly.
3. The peak is open to visitors from 9 AM to 5 PM and you can plan your visit based on the timings.
4. In case you are hungry at the peak, you can find some stalls that sell tea and snacks at affordable rates.
5. Due to safety reasons, there will be a baggage check before entering the peak, so do co-operate with the rules and regulations.
