Arunachal Pradesh in Summer

If you’re seeking a warm summer breeze, clear skies and moderate temperatures, then the summer season is ideal for your trip to Arunachal Pradesh. The temperature oscillates between 20 to 35 degrees Celsius and makes for the perfect respite from the scorching heat of the cities. During the night, the temperature may dip to about 20 - 25 degrees, giving you a cooler climate to enjoy.
Although, travelling in and around Arunachal might become tiresome, given the summer heat. But brave that, and Arunachal treats you to beautiful places like the Ziro Valley, Tawang, Bomdila, Roing and Namdapha National Park, all of which have a pleasant climate throughout the year, including summers. Explore Buddhist monasteries in Tawang, or just take short hikes in the verdant hills. You can also explore offbeat trails in Ziro valley, and stay with the Apatani tribes of Arunachal, whose agricultural practices are unique and interesting. Bomdila is another great choice for summer, with its azure blue skies, Tibetan monasteries and clear views of the mountains.
Summers also mean that you don’t have to lug around a heavy backpack, since warm layers are not needed. Another added advantage is that summers are considered to be off-season, which means you are much more likely to get cheaper hotels and homestays, along with the solitude and peaceful quiet that bustling touristy streets cannot grant you.

Arunachal Pradesh in Monsoon

Monsoon in Arunachal is spread over July to September.
The North Eastern kingdom of India receives a generous amount of
rainfall, and Arunachal is no exception. If you’re dreaming of cuddly nights, and the melodious sounds of rain on the roof, there are few places like Arunachal
to guarantee you that. Temperatures range from 22 to 28 degrees during the daytime and fall to 18 - 23 degrees during night i.e., pleasant climate. The heat of
summer is washed down by the cool rainfall, and the greenery experiences a
full bloom.
Verdant and expansive greenery carpets everything and the cloudy
skies make the valleys and hills look like something right out of a fairy tale.
While all of this holds true, visiting Arunachal in monsoons is not a good
idea, as it experiences frequent bouts of landslides due to intense rainfall.
The roads become very dangerous, and travelling anywhere becomes a risk. The monsoon season sees the least number of tourists, owing to the dangers it
tails. Besides landslides, there is also a high possibility of floods in the
North East, which is why tourists avoid travelling there. However, if you think
you can endure the risks, places like Nuranang Falls and Bap Teng Kang Falls
should be your go-to places to behold the raging splendour of nature during
monsoons. Also, not to mention the widely famous Ziro Festival of Music that is
conducted every year during September is one of the reasons you may want to go
during monsoons!

Arunachal Pradesh in Winter

Winters in Arunachal begin in October and extend up to March.
Winters are the best season to visit Arunachal Pradesh when a thick
layer of snow blankets the place, and sprawling snow-capped mountains loom to
greet you. Though the climate is quite cold, it breathes a different life into
the beauty of Arunachal. During the daytime, you can expect the temperatures to
range between 10 to 14 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures dip
considerably, at around 8 to 10 degrees. The tundra weather of Arunachal
ensures that though chilly, the weather is refreshing and enjoyable. Arunachal
sees the maximum number of tourists during winter, and the misty grasslands
and foggy valleys are best explored in the cold.
You also get to interact with
countless other travellers visiting Arunachal in winter, witnessing a
potpourri of cultures that they bring along. If you’re a culture enthusiast, be
sure to attend the Lossar Festival celebrated by the Monpa Tribe of Tawang,
which is held annually during the month of February - March. Other major
festivals to attend in winter are Boori Boot, Sanken, and Loku. Tawang is
undeniably the best winter destination in Arunachal, with ample skiing and
hiking opportunities. The Talle Valley near Ziro makes for a picturesque winter
trek, through which you can also stay with the Apatani Tribes of Ziro. As a
bonus, if you go in the early days of October, you may get to see the yearly
harvest in Ziro!
