If you are planning to rent a cab for sightseeing in Bali, then be aware of the surcharge policy that the local drivers follow here. Most of the travellers have fallen victim to this trend especially when travelling from Kuta to Ubud, as the driver states that since the taxi is Kuat based they will have to pay surcharge once they reach the other destined destination.

What should you do instead?

As mentioned earlier, Uber is rare in Bali due to the monopoly of local drivers. However, you can rely on Bluebird Taxi as they run on meter.
