- The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) must be filled out online at least 3 days before travel at https://tdac.immigration.go.th
- Indian travellers may be eligible for a Visa on Arrival or an e-Visa (as per prevailing rules) and should keep return tickets, hotel confirmations, and proof of funds ready for immigration.
- It is recommended to carry at least 10,000 THB per adult in cash, as forex cards may not be accepted everywhere.
- Hotel bed type is subject to availability and is usually confirmed only at the time of check-in.
- Standard check-in and check-out timings will apply. Early check-in or late check-out may involve additional charges depending on availability.
- Airport transfers are strictly point-to-point. Any extra stop or route change requested during the journey will be chargeable.
- For transfers scheduled between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, a night surcharge will apply, payable directly to the driver.
- On shared transfers, the driver will wait up to 5 minutes, while for private transfers, the waiting time is up to 10 minutes only.
- Shared transfers, boat tours, and sightseeing operate on fixed timings, and delays may result in missed services without compensation.
- Island tours, ferries, and speedboats are subject to weather conditions, and schedules or routes may change in the interest of safety.
- As island tours start early, hotel breakfast may be missed. Guests can request a packed or early breakfast from the hotel a day prior (subject to policy).
- During island tours, a simple local Thai lunch is usually provided. Guests are advised to carry swimwear, a change of clothes, sunscreen, and a towel.
- Pregnant women are generally not allowed to participate in island tours or certain adventure activities due to safety guidelines.
- While visiting temples and sacred sites, modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is required, and footwear must be removed where instructed.
- Showing respect towards religious places and the Thai Royal Family is extremely important, and inappropriate behaviour can attract penalties.
- Thailand has a hot and humid climate, so light clothing, sunglasses, hats, and regular hydration are advisable.
- Comfortable footwear is recommended, as many sightseeing spots involve walking on uneven paths, beaches, or steps.
- Tap water is not considered safe for drinking; sealed bottled water should be used at all times.
- Cash is commonly used in local markets, taxis, and small eateries, while cards are widely accepted in hotels, malls, and major attractions.
- Bargaining is common in street markets and night bazaars, but not practised in shopping malls or branded outlets.
- Traffic in cities like Bangkok and Phuket can be unpredictable, so travellers should keep a buffer time for airport transfers and tours.
- Buying a local SIM card at the airport can be helpful for navigation, ride bookings, and staying connected.
- Travellers should remain mindful of their personal belongings in crowded areas, beaches, and nightlife zones.
- Carrying or using e-cigarettes, drugs, or restricted substances is strictly prohibited and can lead to heavy fines or legal consequences.
- Having travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, water activities, and delays is strongly recommended for a smooth travel experience.
