Ratangad fort is located on the border of Ahmednagar and Thane District. It is believed to be part of Akole Taluka of Ahmednagar District. Ratan means Jewel in Hindi. This hill fort is indeed a jewel in all the hill forts here in Sahyadri. It lies in the Ajoba mountain range surrounded by great mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba and Ghanchakkar. Geographically Ratangad is at the banks of Bhandardara lake of Ahmednagar district. With views of the lake and highest mountains in Sahyadris looks very much lost in time. At the base of this fort is the ancient Lord Shiva (Amruteshwar) temple.

Invoke in exciting trekking experience to Ratangad fort from Mumbai. Reach Pritam Hotel, Dadar (East). at 11 pm and start your tour by shared transfer to the base village. Reach base village relax for a while, freshen up and have your breakfast. Start ascending, enjoy the uphill climb of Ratangad Trek as you drench your feet in water streams and mud. Around 10:30 am we will reach Ratangad Fort, explore the place, its doors, its caves and have your lunch. We will start descending in a while, after reaching base village start your journey towards Mumbai and have snacks on the way.
