Surrounded by undulating hills and imbued with simple elegance the stay offers panoramic views to the Great Himalayan Nanda Devi range and of the valleys below. This beautiful stay has 10 suites, nestled in pairs one atop the other, winding down a hillside. Lower suites are built of locally quarried stone mirroring Kumaoni village homes, while upper suites are built using fly-ash bricks clad with bamboo sticks and copper wire. All the Suites have an extra-large bed with spacious en-suite bathrooms, ample lounging space, floor-to-ceiling windows and are fitted with traditional wood-burning bukharis. At the stay, the main building hosts a lounge, spa, and library, and a cantilevered dining area suspended over the valley below. Home to native forests, hidden waterfalls, and terraced farms; the Kumaon the region forms part of the historic route connecting India to Tibet and is a perfect place to explore for outdoor enthusiasts.
Experiences offered:
Excursion to Kasar Devi Temple: The Kasar Devi temple sits at the top of “Cranks Ridge” and offers magnificent views across the valley all the way down to Almora. Guests can take a hike to the temple and enjoy the views and visit the Devi.
Self-guided hike to Waterfall: A slightly challenging walk from the stay descends into an adjacent valley to a beautiful waterfall. Guests can take a walk through local villages and beautiful terraced fields farmed by villagers and enjoy bathing under the waterfall on hot days.
Self-guided walk down to Kosi river: This walk starts from the stay and descends through Hawalbagh village to the Kosi river which is one of the biggest tributaries of River Ganga originating from Tibet.
Swimming & picnic: The Kosi river is ideal for a picnic where guests can also swim and sunbathe on large riverine boulders.
Balta village walk from Kasar Devi: This walk descends
from Kasar Devi to the Balta village through fruit orchards and old
thatched houses, giving an immersive experience of the agricultural
practices and lifestyles of the Kumaoni region.

procured from village farms nearby and foraged from the forests around in the dining area with an unmitigated view of the Himalayas.
