What Pushes Costs Up

Most price increases in Singapore come down to timing and demand.

• Weekend Hotel Pricing: Friday and Saturday nights in Singapore cost 20% to 40% more than weekdays. If your itinerary falls heavily on weekends, it can add to the total cost of the trip. However, you can find affordable hotels in Harbourfront, which is an underused hotel zone for families. It’s a 5-minute walk from the Sentosa Express monorail entrance at VivoCity. 
• F1 Grand Prix in October: It’s a popular motor race held in many parts of the world. Hotel prices rise by 3 to 4 times their normal price that week. Avoid it unless you are specifically going for the race. The 2026 Singapore F1 Grand Prix is scheduled for October 9-11, 2026, at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Resist booking hotels in this location and this window for better pricing. 
• School Holiday Spikes in December and June: Book at least 60 days in advance during these periods.
• Universal Studios Express Pass: It is a special ticket that gives you quick access to attractions so you can make the most of your time at the park. It costs approximately SGD 50 to 80 per person (INR 3,000 to 5,200). It’s worth it on a Saturday. It’s not value for money on a Tuesday because of a relatively small crowd present.

Singapore Visa for Indians in 2026

Indian travellers need a visa to travel to Singapore. As there is no visa on arrival, you have to apply in advance.

According to ICA, travellers need to apply for an entry visa within 30 days prior to arrival in Singapore. From 1 January 2026, a non-refundable Singapore visa application fee is ~INR 2,200 per person. An authorised agent service charge of INR 1,000 plus 18% GST applies on top of that. The total visa cost per applicant comes to approximately INR 3,280 to INR 3,500.

Documents Required for the Visa

Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands: When to Go

Visit Gardens by the Bay in the late afternoon and Marina Bay in the evening. This single sequencing decision saves you from midday heat. You can also enjoy the best lighting for the Supertrees, and be at the waterfront on time for the free Spectra Light Show at 8 pm and 9 pm. 

• Cloud Forest and Flower Dome: Ideally visited between 4 pm and 6 pm for a more comfortable experience. Weekday afternoons tend to be less crowded than weekend mornings. Combo ticket approximately INR 1,600–INR 1,900.
• Supertree Grove and Marina Bay Promenade: Best to be visited from 7 pm onwards. The Garden Rhapsody show runs at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm and is free to view from anywhere within the grove. The later show usually has lighter crowds.
• Marina Bay Sands: Sunset views, the light and water show, and the full city skyline are best experienced in the evening, which is why these slots fill up quickly. Universal Studios Singapore: Timing, Tickets, and Tips

Universal Studios Singapore is worth visiting for families with children aged 6 or above, for groups of friends who tour Singapore for the first time.

If you are on a 3 to 4-day trip, you will have to dedicate one full day to Sentosa and skyline plans, so plan wisely if you are adding this to your itinerary.
