Indian citizens planning a Thimphu tour are exempt from the standard visa requirements for Bhutan, instead of a visa, Indian travelers must obtain an entry permit, which can be acquired at the Immigration Office in Phuntsholing or upon arrival at Paro International Airport. This permit is initially valid for 7 days and can be extended in Thimphu. Notably, there is no cost for this permit. The required documents for the permit include a valid Indian passport or Voter ID card, two passport-sized photographs, and accommodation details in Bhutan. For children below 18 years, a birth certificate and a valid school ID are necessary. If the journey extends beyond Thimphu and Paro, a Special Area Permit, obtainable at the RGoB Immigration Office in Thimphu, is required.

1. Trashi Chho Dzong: Also known as “Fortress of the Glorious Religion", the fortress located on the banks of the Wand Chhu river is famous for its magnificent architecture.
