One of the most exciting places to see in Salalah is the Taqah castle. Constructed in the early part of the 19th century, the castle is an example of grand architecture. Previously, it was the private residence of Sheikh Ali bin Taman Al Ma’shani. He was a tribal leader and the maternal great-grandfather of Sultan Qaboos.
The mesmerizing castle is situated on Taqah, a small fishing village. The pristine beauty of nature around the castle, along with the beach, makes it even more popular. Now it is one of the most well-preserved museums that can offer an intriguing insight into Omani culture.
