Swansea Museum Tramway Centre Overview

The Tramshed was originally a part of the Maritime and industrial museum before the museum was converted into a tram shed. You can also get a chance to look at the last surviving part of the Mumbles train from the 1960 and also get a chance to climb inside and go to the top deck. 

Also known as the Tramshed, The Swansea Tram Museum is one of the top places to visit in Swansea, located at Dylan Thomas Square next to the waterfront museum. The Museum is known to have memorabilia from street trams of Swansea and the most popular Mumbles train, operated by the Swansea Museum, The Tramshed is in a large conservatory building that is known to have a double-decker tram and a reconstruction of the original Mumbles train of 1804 which was also the first passenger railway service in the world.

The Mumbles train has ever since evolved as an iconic symbol of Swansea through the years and many tourists visit the Tramshed to get a glimpse of all that is left of the first passenger railway and the Mumbles train.
