Ramoche Temple Overview

Also, considered as a sister temple to Jokhang temple, this temple was believed to be originally built to house the much revered Jowo Rinpoche statue.

This figure is regarded as a great saint in Ramoche Monastery which was carried to Tibet by the Nepalese Chizun Princess. One can see the ten pillars holding some of the relics such as the encased lotus flowers, coiling cloud, jewelry, and particular Tibetan Characters.

Location: Situated in the northwest of the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, it is east of the Potala and north of the Jokhang.
