PYRAMID OF DJOSER

The Pyramid of Djoser, also known as the Step Pyramid, is an ancient architectural marvel located in the Saqqara necropolis near Cairo, Egypt. Built during the 27th century BC for the Pharaoh Djoser by his vizier, Imhotep, it is considered the earliest colossal stone building and the first pyramid ever constructed.

Standing at approximately 62 meters tall, the Pyramid of Djoser is characterized by its distinctive step-like structure, consisting of six mastabas stacked on top of each other. This innovative design marked a significant advancement in ancient Egyptian funerary architecture, laying the foundation for future pyramid construction.
