PLAZA DEL OBISPO MALAGA

Among the less-visited Malaga tourist attractions, is the Plaza del Obispo, which is a historic square in the city of Malaga. The square was altered by the erection of various religious structures in the 18th century, had further modifications in the 20th century, and dates back to the Moorish era of the city's history. The plaza also features a lovely fountain in the middle that was constructed in the late 18th century.

The Malaga Cathedral of the Incarnation and the Episcopal Palace are both visible from Plaza del Obispo, which is situated in front of them. Although the history of this plaza is unknown, it may have existed during the Muslim era. In the 18th century, the cathedral's main front and the episcopal palace were finished, giving the square its current appearance.

Diego Clavero and Geronimo Cuervo replaced the outdated structures with new ones over the last ten years of the 20th century, renovating the square and some of its buildings. Byzantine and late Roman wall relics were made available for tasting because of the construction. A fountain from 1785, whose water had been brought through the San Telmo aqueduct, is located in the middle of the square.

It is made of grey stone marble, just as the roof of the Palacio Episcopal, and it has two cups and a pineapple at the top from which water falls. 5 The planter that ringed the square was removed as part of the 1998 redesign and swapped out for a foundation that served as a stair.
