Pathar Mosque Overview

Constructed back in 1623 by Noor Jahan, Pathar Mosque is located on Jhelum river’s banks, and it is a wonder place to visit on your trip to Kashmir. According to popular historical facts, this mosque was built under the administration and scrutiny of the famous Mughal architect and historian, Malik Hyder Chaudhary.

The name of this beautiful mosque is inspired by its very own construction that is built mainly of stones. Depicting the magnificent Mughal architecture, this place features spellbinding designs, horizontal arches, and structural patterns. At the present time, the shrine is in its ruins and is mostly visited by archaeologists and history fanatics.
