  • By Car: The Golden Gate Bridge is 6.7 mi from the city centre, it will take 17 min via the US-101 S route.
  • By Bus: Take a bus to Toll Plaza bus stop station which is 2.1 mi away from the bridge. You can reach the bridge from the bus station with an 8-minute walk

The Golden Gate Bridge is accessible and open to pedestrians and vehicles throughout the year, regardless of season or weather conditions. The best season to visit The Golden Gate Bridge is during fall, from September to November due to pleasant climate and clearer skies. The best day of the week to visit is during the weekends. The bridge is an essential part of the city and is busy during the peak hours even during weekends. 

Other Essential Information

  • Electric scooters, roller skates, skateboards and rollerblades are not allowed on the bridge.
  • You will not be able to take your pet to the bridge unless you have a service dog, guide dog or signal dog along.
  • You will get toll-free access to the Bridge’s sidewalk 24 hours a day if you want to go on a cycle ride, following the speed limit of 15 mph.
