Liberty Bell Overview

Liberty Bell is an iconic symbol of American freedom and is a famous tourist attraction in Philadelphia. It is located in the Liberty Bell Centre, sprawling through the Chestnut and Market Streets. As you witness this glorifying artefact from outside, you will be impressed by this State House Bell.

It has a crack which holds history dates back to the early 1840s. Due to the rigorous use of the bell, this crack occurred. When you enter the Liberty Bell Centre, you can take a guided tour of the exhibition. It will showcase the original x-rays of the crack, historical documents, photos and other artefacts. An amazing video is also shown to help you understand the significance of this bell.

The message of this Liberty Bell says “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof”. This Bible inscription was possibly taken out to honour the 50th anniversary of the Charter of Privileges granted by William Penn. It signifies when the Pennsylvania people got their religious and self-government liberties.
