Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple AKA five-faced Hanuman temple is situated at a distance of 2 km from Sri Ramanathaswamy Sanctuary in Rameshwaram and is known to be devoted to Lord Hanuman.The temple stands tall in its off white color which makes it stand out in the hustle of the streets in Rameshwaram. It is believed that Lord Hanuman uncovered his 5 faces here which makes this site extremely sacred and one of the most visited important places in Rameshwaram.
The temple has a huge statue of Hanuman with his five faces which is worshipped and adorned with flowers by many visitors, the tirtham also inhabits the floating stones that were apparently used to build the bridge by Ram and his army of monkeys. This temple has a lot of intriguing stories that are fun to listen to while sitting under the many trees in the vicinity.
