BLETCHLEY PARK

Bletchley Park, currently a museum, was once home to more than 200 workers of the Secret Intelligence team of Britain during World War two who used to solve codes. This museum engages and educates its visitors about the role of Bletchley Park through different exhibitions, live music and events.

Bletchley Park is a country house which was established in 1883 in Buckinghamshire as an estate for the financier and politician Sir Herbert Leon. The architectural elements of the house like the Victorian Gothic and Dutch Baroque styles of the house marks it amongst the most standing tourist places to visit in Milton Keynes.

The house is famous for its historical linkage with World War II, when it was turned into the Government Code and Cypher School which would regularly penetrate the secret communications of the Axis Powers. As per the reports of British Historians, the intelligence work done at Bletchley had a profound impact in reducing the years of World War 2. At the house, famous ciphers like Alan Turning and other members of the Ultra intelligence project would decode the enemy’s message and later built a machine called Tunny cipher machine. 

This vibrant heritage attraction now hosts a number of permanent and temporary exhibitions like ‘The Intelligence Factory’, ‘The Art of Data’, ‘Early days’, ‘Veteran Stories’ and more.
