BADDESLEY CLINTON

Baddesley Clinton is one of the best architectural manor houses, with a moat. Moreover, it is nestled amidst lovely gardens and also a few Victorian gardens. You can call it one of the popular Birmingham tourist places. It is a late mediaeval manor house whose Elizabethan windows are visible from a long distance. The manor house was home to the Ferrers family for over 500 years. Henry Ferrers had built the maximum part of the house. It was built sometime in the 15th /16th century.

Baddesley Clinton is a perfect example of artistic brilliance and of the Elizabethan age, where you will find exquisite craftsmanship brimming from every corner of the place. There are over mantles as well, that go back to the Elizabethan era. Moreover, you will find lovely trails surrounding the gardens, and there are bird planters as well, inside. You can also take your children there as they will have a nice time.

Just 250 yards from the house, you can also visit the mediaeval church, which goes by the name St. Michael. Furthermore, you will be amazed to know that the house has also featured in the Sherlock Holmes series, aired on Granada TV. Many other shows were also shot there, which highlights the worthiness of the building in Birmingham.

• There was a fourth wing, which was demolished sometime in the 18th century. But the ruins are still a good watch.
