Built in 1948, the Miami zoo covers over 740 acres and is home to more than 3,000 animals representing over 500 species. The estate includes a main house, guest homes and ten acres of formal gardens surrounding a series of swimming pools, fountains, artificial grottos and manicured landscapes.The museum's historic villa is filled with an array of unique and interesting items, including 18th and 19th century European furnishings and decorative arts, as well as a collection of Asian art and antiques. Visitors can also view a selection of American antiques, including furniture and decorative arts from the colonial and federal periods. Along with this, there are decorations such as porcelain figures from Meissen in Germany or Wedgewood from England as well as an array of luxurious antiques from across Europe to enjoy.
