Popular as one of the must-visit and most visited places, Lamadugh is famous for offering experiences and views that you may have never witnessed before. The trek offers majestic views of the many high mountains of the Himalayas that surround the valley like Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and the peaks of the Bara Shigri glacier.

This day trek to the meadow of Lamadugh starts with your arrival at the meeting point in the Old Manali. You will then start the trek and climb through the thick forests of Pine and Deodar to reach your destination. To enter Lamadugh, you will have to walk on the ridge, the place will open up to this green heaven of a meadow dotted by just one hut and with a variety of flowers. Spend some time here and have your packed lunch, before climbing back down to reach Manali base camp and enjoy overnight camping over there. The next day morning, after having breakfast bring the experience to an end. To make the experience more convenient and helpful, you will have the facility of trek guide, cook, and helpers on the trek.

About the Lamadugh Trek

  • Duration of Lamadugh Trek & is of 2Days 1Night
  • Reach the Manu Temple by 10 in the morning.
  • Make sure to carry enough water for the trek.
  • The trek is a little steep and will pass through scenic forests of Deodar and pine.
  • Be camera-ready to take the pictures of The trail which offers scenic views of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and Bara Shigri Glaciers.
  • After climbing the last phase, you will arrive at Lamadugh. Spend some time in the flowery meadow of this plateau, & now head back to Manali.
  • Trek down the trail to your campsite, where a campfire is ready for you to enjoy.
  • Dinner and overnight in an Old Manali campsite.
  • Next Morning after Breakfast you can check out of camp bring your experience to an end.

How to reach?

You have to report to Old Manali which is the starting point of the trek and it is around 2 km from Mall Road of Manali. Many local means of transport and private cabs are available from Mall Road to reach Old Manali.

The nearest Bus stand which is Manali Bus Depot is only 2 km. from Old Manali.

Day 1
Delhi to Manali || Overnight journey to the Mountains

Day 2
Old Manali to Lamadugh || Venture into the world of Deodar and Pine
  • The trek requires you to arrive at the Manu temple by 10 in the morning,
  • After seeking his blessings and packing lunch for the way, you will begin the trek. Make sure that you carry enough water because you will not be finding any till your destination.
  • The trek is a little steep and will pass through scenic forests of Deodar and pine.
  • The trail offers scenic views of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and Bara Shigri Glaciers, so make sure your cameras are at the ready.
  • After climbing the last phase, you will arrive at Lamadugh. After spending some time in the flowery meadow of this plateau, you can start your descent back to Manali.
  • You will trek down the trail and be taken down to your campsite, where a campfire will be waiting for you to enjoy.
  • Dinner and overnight in an Old Manali campsite.


Day 3
Lamadugh Trek, Manali || Get ready for descent
  • Wake up early morning, soak up the fresh air. After some time, get ready, have breakfast, and gear up for your descent to Manali. 
Day 4
Manali to Delhi || Bid adieu to the Mountains
  • Overnight bus ride to Delhi
  • Return home with a bagful of memories
