Located in the Karjat region of Maharashtra,  Kothaligad or Peth Fort trek is something you can’t miss. The fort is also called “Peth Fort” because of its vicinity to Peth village.  The beauty and serenity of the lush green landscape makes this place an ideal weekend getaway for people of Mumbai and Pune.

Unlike other funnel hill forts, the pinnacle or the funnel is carved from the inside, forming a circular staircase that reaches the top.The beautiful view from the top of the pinnacle combined with this unique and awe-inspiring engineering design surely deserves a visit.


About the activity:


During monsoon, you can see many beautiful waterfalls below the fort. The fort looks like an inverted funnel, it is also known as funnel hill. When you reach the top, enthrall in the historical views of Kalwawantinicha Mahal, Nagfani, Siddhagad, Malanggad, Chanderi, Prabalgad, and Manikgad. Spend some amazing time with the rest of the group members while exploring the silence prevailing these forts and the silent landscapes surrounding the region.

Your journey starts with meeting the fellow trekkers at Shivaji Nagar Pune by 6:00 AM. From there a local transportation will take you to Karjat Railway Station and from there the base village.In the duration of the transfer, breakfast will be served to energize you for the trek ahead. A 3-hour long trek will get you on the top of the fort, where you will get some time to explore followed by descending back to base village. Lunch is served at the base village and then a journey back to Dadar by 7:00 PM in your transportation. By 9:00 PM you will be back in Mumbai and this marks the end of this stunning trek.
