Guide
Kitesurfing is an adventure sport combining the fun of wakeboarding, snowboarding, windsurfing, paragliding, skateboarding and sailing together. In this, the power of wind is used to move the kite and a board across the water. Flatwater locations are favoured by the riders so that they can perform freestyle as the water is smooth and hence it is easier to take off and land on. In this, there is a large parachute type kite to propel a rider across the water on a small surfboard or a kiteboard which is very similar to a wakeboard. It is distinctive as it takes the wind energy from a much larger atmosphere volume, compared to sail size. When compared to the other sailing sports, kiteboarding is both less expensive and more convenient. The sport is also divided into various styles – wave riding, freestyle speed, big air, wake park riding, kite buggying and kite landboarding. Koh Tao kitesurfing has now gained extreme popularity, and people from around the world come to have this experience. Nobody is old or young to learn this sport and the assumption that strong and well – trained muscles are required for this sport is also a myth. Anybody can learn and enjoy the Koh Tao surf as the kites have become much safer and accessible these days.
