Hatta Heritage Village

The Hatta Heritage village, one of the greatest places to visit in Hatta, is a reconstructed mountain village that gives a glimpse of the ancient Arab culture. After extensive renovation by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the village was opened for tourists in February 2001.

A walk through the roads of the village will take you back in time about how the everyday life of the local community looked. Hatta Dam

While at Hatta, you can never miss kayaking and Hatta Dam is the perfect place for it. Built in the 1990s, Hatta Dam is a major source of water and electricity for the village. This dam is an ideal weekend getaway from Dubai to escape the bustling of the city. 

The majestic waters make you feel calm, relaxed and divine at the same time. Hatta Kayak offers rental kayaks, canoes, water bikes, pedal boats and motor boats at AED60 per person for unlimited time. The best time to visit Hatta Dam is during the cool winter months.

Hatta Wadi Hub

Sitting at the foothills of the Hajar Mountains, the Hatta Hill Park is an oasis surrounded by lush greenery. This big green space includes a well-cushioned running track, children’s park, swimming pool and football field. Hatta Sign

If you are a hiking enthusiast, do not miss visiting the “Hollywood sign of Hatta''. This iconic place to visit in Hatta is reached after 30 minutes of hiking through the Hajar mountains from the Hatta Wadi Hub. Signboard maps at the hub indicate the distance and difficulty of each trial.

The trails are marked in red, blue and green to indicate the difficulty. Green is considered easy, while blue is moderately challenging and red is the hardest of them all. The shortest trail is 1 km while the longest is 7.5 km. As you walk along the trail, you can witness the eye candy view of the mighty mountains. On reaching the peak, there is the 60 meter tall Hatta Sign. This hike is available 24X7 for everyone.

Hatta Falaj

Hatta Falaj is the village’s conventional water supply system. It is situated behind the Hatta Heritage Village. A small walk from the heritage village will take you to Al Sharia, the palm tree farm. Take a stroll under the shady trees and explore the falaj which runs under the ground for several kilometers before appearing on the surface.

This 200 year old system was constructed way back in the 1800s. The Falaj operates by taking fresh water directly from the Hajar Mountains to all parts of the village. The houses of local residents and their date farms are watered by this Falaj irrigation system.

Swan Lake

"it was a great experience. I was bit apprehensive, when I booked through thrillophilia. but, they really organized it well. I booked a VIP package (costing 3800 per person). they arranged for private pick up in Nissan Petrol. They took us to camp, which is little far but better than Al Avir. \n\nLocal operator Mr. Danyal is a nice person. He took a great care of us. \n\nwe were provided land cruiser for dune bashing. then quad bike for 20-25 mins. after that, we did horse ride and camel ride. although camel ride and horse ride were namesake only. they would allow for 2 mins only and if you want to take a longer ride, you need to pay extra. so I skipped it. \n\nCamp had good performances like belly dance, Tanura show, Fire show and Jumba. Food was served on the table. Food quality was average.\n\nalthough, In the camp, they would try to get you money through multiple activities like sand art, Premium fruit salad, premium desserts, handbags, photo printouts, photo with eagle etc. And one needs to hard bargain. like I paid 20 dhiram for photos, they started with 150 dhiram."
