The place is also known as Tellicherry and is located in the northern part of Kerala along the coast of Malabar. This is small town but it is famous for its history, culture and heritage. It is popularly known as city of 3Cs that stand for circus, cakes and cricket. The British chose this place as their export hub for spices trade because of its unique geography.
Thalassery is the city of exotic beaches. Muzhappilangad and Dharmadam beaches are protected by black rocks making these shallow waters a swimmer’s paradise. The sea view park is also a major tourist attraction of Thalassery. The diverse cultures that coexist in this place made this a home for several mosques, churches and Temples. The tellicherry fort is the most famous attraction here.
Thalassery is well connected by both road and railways. The Kanyakumari-Mumbai NH-66 passes through this area and the railway station which is well linked with many major cities of Kerala. There is no airport in Thalassery. The nearest airport to the city is Kozhikode International Airport which is about 90 kms away.
