Built to commemorate the previous alliance between Vietnam and Cambodia, there is the Cambodia- Vietnam Friendship Monument. It is located in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh and the monument is one of the largest concrete construction of Cambodia. The Tuol Sleng Genocise Museum is an explicit replica of the history that affected Cambodia during the 70s under the reign of Khmer Rouge. It symbolizes the darkened genocide period Cambodia has gone through before some years. Originally a school, the building was turned to become a prison and it houses the tombs of those victims and it still knows as the remnants of a Killing Field. The word Tuol Sleng means ‘Hill of the Poisonous Trees’. The prisoners were regularly tortured and beaten up and the museum possesses the graphics, pictures and writings came out during imprisonment of people which exhibit the extreme cruelty imposed by the Khmer reign. It is not advisable for kids to visit the museum. The entry starts at 07:00 AM and ends at 05:00 PM.
