The monastery contains more than 90 monks of the Gelukpa division. Presently it has become a research centre and an institute for Buddhist study. The monastery can be visited at any time of the year for free and usually opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM.

Teesta Udyan is a beautiful park situated in Jalpaiguri which is 15 km from Bagdogra.
