This prologue befits for our travelog today. We corresponded with one of the travel aficionadi who waited almost a decade before leaving all the resistance behind and deciding on his maiden solo trip somewhere. This is when he visited Thrillophilia and this is his travelog.
The Travel Expert’s Maiden Solo Trip
Faizan Khan, a 26-year old Travel Expert living in New Delhi has a unique story. We asked, “Being a Travel Expert, how come you had to wait so long for your maiden solo trip?”, to which he replied, and what wooed us,
“I was brought up in a humble family where my parents worked hard to facilitate my education and made me capable. I wanted to fulfill my dreams with my own income.”
One of the Faizan’s friend pointed him to Thrillophilia where he was exposed to the plethora of short and moderate treks for a beginner. Adamant on opting for a trek, he finally decided on Nag Tibba trek.

About Nag Tibba Trek
For the Delhi peeps, this one is considered to be the ‘must-opt’ weekend trek. Relatively unexplored, Nag Tibba trek trail is near Mussoorie and it is the highest peak (9,915 ft) in the Nag Tibba range of the Garhwal Himalayas.
Wrapped in a two-day trekking delight package, the trek exposes you to beautiful flora and fauna along with the surreal views of Bandarpoonch peak, the Gangotri group of peaks, Kedarnath peak in the north, Doon valley and the snow peaks of Changabang.

The Trek’xperience
We asked Faizan to narrate his experience and he was more than excited to take over.
“The night long travel from Delhi to the destination and the dreadful halt at the railway station was the most tiring part of the journey; but since the trek is over, let me tell you – it was worth it!”
“I was part of one of the best group I ever mingled with. We cheered and motivated each other. The trek becomes a little easy with a friendly group around you. We had a bonfire, which I was hoping for and wished each other New Year.”
“After wrapping the first day, the next morning we had an amazing breakfast and then we trekked to reach the heights which enabled us to soak in the 360-degree view of the scenery.”
The trek starts with a four hour from Dehradun to Panthwari village which takes you through Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, over Yamuna Bridge and up to Nainbagh on the road to Purola. Panthwari Village marks the starting point for the trek.
The itinerary of the day one includes you reaching “Nag Devta” temple via a trail that goes up from the village. After you reach the Temple the cemented trail becomes a rocky shepherds’ trail.
On the second day of the trek, you reach the top point of Nag Tibba and witness the stunning views of the Himalayan peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath, Gangotri etc. Hereafter, you descend to conclude your short trek trip.
Even though the trek is over, we could see Faizan reliving those moments. He mentions, “Everybody had their mind made up to reach the top before anyone else like we all do in such situations. I too was excited and tried my best. I was the second to reach the peak”, he laughs.
