A break from the chaotic routine I have been carrying with me for some months, a refreshing change that can remain with me until the time I say it’s time for the next one; these were the only concerns wandering inside my heart for a long time. And finally I arrived at a position where I got the perfect answer and it was sounding like Corbett the Baagh.
Somewhere from the internet I found the name Corbett the Baagh and I knew that even before I find how to reach this amazing location that I would reach there. The photos displayed on various sites kept on mumbling that I can have the best, peaceful and a rejuvenating experience at this resort. For my surprise, everything from the booking to stay was taken cared properly by the resort officials.
To escape from the loneliness I may find during the trip, I asked my friend to join me taking a week off from our office days. Jim Corbett National Park was the primary target but the resort Corbett the Baagh did not let me take my eyes off of it. We reached the resort on our own. The verdant greenery was the first thing attracted me and I let my eyes run so fast around the location as they caught the glimpses of some hills at the back of the resort. I thought it would be dramatic if I got a chance to sleep in the courtyard looking at the stars that night.
It took only ten minutes for the reception team to lead us to the room, the superior room on the first floor. I have been concerned about the hospitality but they did not disappoint me even a single percentage. The room was clean, spacious, curtained well, arranged faultless and one thing I noticed quickly was the table top neatly set up with a coffee maker, cups, cookies and water bottles. Without wasting a time, I checked the bathroom as well. The white towels added more charm to already clean bathroom.
I just opened the windows because I felt the room needed to breathe for some time as it was closed for a long time I guess. The wind blowing from the mountains directly hit the windowpanes and then our faces. The hospitality manager said that we could go for an evening safari with the naturalist the resort itself has after lunch. We were happy to know that and we headed out to the multi cuisine restaurant downstairs and had a traditional Thali meal. I and my friend liked the food very much.
We met the naturalist and went to the national park. We got the tickets from the entry gate and boarded a gypsy with other four people on it. The safari took us to the interiors of the park filled with the verdant grasslands and tall trees in the surrounding. Once a life time experience was it to capture the glimpses of the pure nature undisturbed and maintained well.
We were expecting the tigers the park is famous for, would be roaming around but we could not find any. The naturalist who was with us told that if you come for the morning safari, there would be more chances to spot them. But surprisingly, we spotted a flock of elephants near the water body inside. Two of them were the kids and it was a speechless moment to see them having water from the lake. We had to get out of the park way before it was sunset. We returned to the resort after walking around location the park is situated for some more time.
Since we travelled for long hours and reached the resort in the morning, I was really tired by the time of dinner. I finished dinner fast and hit the bed for a relaxed sleep.
Early morning, we woke up to do the morning safari with the same naturalist who was waiting outside. It was just 5:30 or so. But different to the setting the evenings offer, the morning was giving more charm to the park. Also, we spotted one tiger from far walking through the forest area. May be because of human noise, the tiger just hid behind the bushes.
After the safari we returned to the resort and had a steaming breakfast. Then the resort officials called us to enjoy a presentation as other guests also were ready to join the group. The presentation was about the rare fauna and flora near the resort premises and things related to it. Since we had extended our check-out time, we got two more hours to spend at the resort. We just roamed around the resort to take some photographs.
Surely, such a pristine location maintained with a high quality is an onerous task and the people at the resort are doing a great job to keep the surroundings and rooms so clean every day. From the entrance to the bathrooms, everything the resort catches a special attention.
When we were leaving the resort I felt I could have spent more days at the resort because all the service they provided made me feel at ease and comfortable. I thanked them and left for my onward journey to Rajasthan after that.
