About Torre de Collserola Barcelona

The Torre de Collserola is a communications tower located in the Catalan city of Barcelona. Designed by British architect Norman Foster and completed in 1992, it is the tallest structure in the city, with a height of 288 metres. Located on the slopes of Tibidabo, the tower also boasts of an external glass lift, which can take you to its observation area, located at a height of 115 metres from the ground.

From here, you can enjoy some of the most magnificent views of the city, extending up to a radius of almost 70 kilometres on a clear day. It is from this tower that all the televisions and radios in the city receive transmissions from. Additionally, the repeater stations in Catalonia are also controlled by Torre de Collserola.

The tower was built in 1992 for the Olympic Games and is also used for telecommunications, broadcasting and research purposes. In the elevator waiting area of the tower, you can find a gallery with photographs of the highest towers in the world. Out of the 24 names listed here, the Torre de Collserola ranks 15th, following the Sydney Tower and the Eiffel Tower.
