SHIRPAMAL

Dating back to as far back as the 3rd Century, Shirpamal is one of the most iconic historical places to see in Jawhar. This very historical site belonged to one of the most important emperors of the Maratha Kingdom, Chhatrapati Shivaji. The army of Shivaji halted at his place on their way to Surat. The place is marked with a red arch and a plaque mentioning the stay of Shivaji at this spot.

It was initially made on the hilltop to keep an eye on the enemy and to protect the army from any kind of attack. However, over time, this iconic historical site has become a popular tourist attraction as it provides a beautiful aerial view of the whole city of Jawhar.
