PORT CABLE CAR BARCELONA

Popularly known as the Port Vell Aerial Tramway, the Port Cable car is a fun experience to indulge in, when in Barcelona. With the frequency of rides being every 10 to 15 minutes, the Cable Car traverses between Barceloneta beach and the Miramar Hotel, present on the Montjuic mountain. One of the best things about the Port Cable car ride is the spectacular views it offers.

The entire pathway of the ride connects the Barceloneta beach and the Miramar Hotel, situated on the Montjuic mountain. The Port Cable car ride is known as the Transbordador Aeri del Port in Catalan or the Teleferic Aeri del Port, in Spanish. With a ride available every 10-15 minutes, there are ample companies offering this experience. The occupancy of each cable car is 19 people approximately, and the ride traverses between a height of 70m and 90m, mostly above the port. You can choose amongst the three stations available for Cable car ride, the Montjuic mountain station, Jaume I cable car tower, and the Sant Sebastia cable car tower.

One of the busiest times the Port Cable car operates in is during the weekends, specially during Easter and summers, and since there is no pre-booking available, it is recommended to plan your schedule accordingly. The activity duration of the cable car ride depends on the slot you choose, ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, and can be extended further.
