NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN HISTORY

Another popular Smithsonian museum, this place traces the political, social, scientific, cultural, and technological history of the United States from colonial times to the present. Displaying important articles (more than three million) and historical objects related to the evolution of the American identity, the museum is surely worth a visit.

From the famed Star-Spangled Banner, Dorothy’s ruby slippers, Thomas Jefferson's desk to one of Edison's light bulbs, the collection of the museum is eye-catching and fascinating.
