A work of art dedicated to President Abraham Lincoln, this memorial is one of the most popular Washington D.C. tourist places. While the larger-than-life statue of the great president is an attraction in itself, his two famous speeches etched onto its walls also attract history buffs and architecture appreciators.
The building's architecture also impresses with 38 Doric columns which signify the states in the Union at the time of President Lincoln's demise.
