Also known as Mengo, this is the home of Kabaka, the Buganda King. Built in 1922, the building was initially an army barrack and an underground prison and torture and execution chamber, making it one of the most fascinating Uganda tourist spots.
It is an amazing experience to see the eternal fire and walk through the dark concrete tunnel with damp cells that are separated by moat-like water bodies that were built to prevent the prisoners from escaping.
Location: Lubiri Ring Road, Kampala, Uganda.
Timing: Every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
