Murchison Falls Overview

Murchison Falls, located in Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park, is one of East Africa's most powerful and captivating natural wonders. The falls mark the point where the Nile River narrows from 50 meters to just 7 meters as it plunges 43 meters through a rocky gorge, creating a thunderous roar and a stunning display of mist and rainbows. Surrounded by lush, wildlife-rich landscapes, the falls offer breathtaking views and exceptional biodiversity, with elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and countless bird species thriving along the riverbanks.

Visitors can experience Murchison Falls from various perspectives, including riverboat cruises that provide close-up views of the waterfall and wildlife or hiking trails that lead to the top of the falls for a panoramic vista. As Uganda’s largest national park, Murchison Falls National Park also offers exciting safaris, showcasing some of Africa's "Big Five" animals in a pristine, natural setting.
