Halebid Overview
Halebid is a beautiful town which is also known as Halebidu and Dwarasamudra. It is located in Hassan District and is dotted with incredibly beautiful shrines, temples and imposing sculptures because of which it is also famous as the Gem of Indian architecture. This city was once the capital of the Hoysala empire, and this is reflected in the structural designs of its various temples and monuments. 

Other popular attractions in this town are Hoysaleswara Temple, Basadi Halli, Yagachi Dam, Kedareswara Temple, and the Archaeological Museum. While visiting the Halebid city, do not forget to enjoy the Hoysala Mahotsava. This festival represents the cultural performances, programs and different forms of art.  

The best time to visit Halebid is between October to February. The temperature at this time is perfect to explore the town and different attractions. You will get around 10 to 25 degrees temperature, which is best for traveling and makes the place more beautiful. The temperature rises to 44 degrees in the summer, which is best to avoid. But if you want to catch the festival, then you will need to visit this place in March.
