How To Reach

• By Car: The garden of caves is 15 km from the city centre of Cherrapunji. It will take around 30 minutes via the Sohra Shella route.

Best Time To Visit

The garden of caves is a year-round destination i.e., you can plan your visit to the cave at any time of the year. 

• The monsoon season is the best time because that’s when the caves are in their full glory. 
• Plan your visit on the weekday, if you want to escape the crowds and explore the garden at your own pace.
• We recommend planning your visit in the morning because the crowds are minimal and you can explore the caves easily.

Visitor tips

1. You might have to walk a lot, so choose your footwear accordingly before visiting this place. 

2. Do not spoil the cleanliness of this place by littering, so in case you have any litter, do carry it home. 

3. There is an entry fee of 20 rupees per person before entering the premises, so be prepared accordingly. 

4. You will have to pay an extra amount of 100 rupees, if you want to use a camera to click pictures. 

5. The overall setting of the place is calm and quiet, so do not make any noise and affect the sanctity of the caves.
