How To Reach

1. By Road: Reaching Riwai Village by road can be an exhilarating experience as the journey showcases the lush green landscapes of Meghalaya. The Living Root Bridge is 2.4 kilometres from Mawlynnong and 76 kilometres from Shillong. 

2. By Bus: From Shillong, get on buses run by Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) and other private operators to reach Mawlynnong. This 77.8-kilometre journey by bus takes 2.5 to 3 hours. From Mawlynnong, Riwai Village is just about 2.4 kilometres away, which can be easily covered on foot or by local taxis. Upon reaching the village, you can reach the bridge on foot in 15 to 20 minutes, covering 300 metres. 

3. By Car: Driving from Shillong, take the NH6 towards Dawki and turn off at Mawlynnong. You can cover the 77.8-kilometre distance in around 2.5 hours. From there, follow the signs to Riwai Village. The drive from Shillong to Riwai is approximately 82.5 kilometres and usually takes around 3 hours. From Riwai Village, the bridge is located 300 metres, or a 15 to 20-minute walk away.
