Fort San Domingo is a historic fortress located on a hilltop that acts as a testament to the foreign nations. The Spanish built this fort as their base of command in 1628 and destroyed it when the Dutch expelled them in 1642 from Tamsui.
In 1744, the Dutch rebuilt this fort using precious stone and renamed it, Fort Antonio. The fort offers splendid views of the boats and ships that enter the busy harbor.
