How To Reach

Double Decker Living Root Bridge is reached via Cherrapunji. One needs to reach the village of Tyrna near Nongriat and then walk a flight of stairs to reach the bridge.

By Car: You can rent your car and drive from Cherrapunji to Nongriat to Tyrna, where the trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge begins. Park your car, then trek 3500+ steps and cross two iron bridges to reach the bridge, approximately 2 hours from Cherrapunji to Tyrna.

By Bus: You can take a bus from Cherrapunji to Tyrna village and then trek to the bridge. The bus usually takes longer but is more affordable.

By Taxi: Book a cab from Cherrapunji to Nongriat and trek to reach the bridge via trekking through Tyrna village. It is more convenient to take a taxi.

Best Time To Visit

Cherrapunji is known as one of the wettest places on earth. It rains heavily from May to October. The bridge is open 24 hours but dark makes it difficult to go in the forest.
